Good practices for companies cooperating with finfluencers
The Polish Financial Supervision Authority (KNF) has published on its website a set of good practices for investment firms cooperating with financial influencers (“finfluencers”). Here’s what companies should keep in mind.
Appropriate selection of finfluencer
Investment firms should cooperate with individuals whose qualifications and experience are verified and confirmed. The firm should continuously monitor the finfluencer’s communication style and content.
Preparation of information about the cooperation
The content published by the finfluencer should include a clear and visible disclosure of the cooperation, prepared by the investment firm.
Content verification
Any content published by the finfluencer that concerns the investment firm and its products should be checked for compliance with the law — especially information directed to clients.
Monitoring of activities
The investment firm should maintain appropriate risk management frameworks and monitor the actions of the finfluencers it cooperates with.
Appropriate product selection
Finfluencers should not be used to promote or offer complex or high-risk investment products.
