KWKR projects worth remembering: cooperation with developer Matexi

As part of our rebranding, we want to share some of the key projects that reflect KWKR’s strength and experience. This time, we take a closer look at our long-standing collaboration with Matexi Polska – a socially responsible developer whose strategy includes long-term engagement in the Polish market. Thanks to intensive cooperation on numerous residential projects in Kraków, KWKR has become a trusted legal partner for one of the region’s most dynamically growing developers.

Comprehensive support for a wide range of development challenges

Our work with Matexi spans a wide range of residential developments in Kraków, all carried out in line with the “Welcome to the neighbourhood” philosophy. We provide legal advisory services on several key development projects, each of which has posed unique legal and regulatory challenges.

Portowa project – managing complex multilateral relationships

One of the most complex projects was the transaction on Portowa Street in Kraków. KWKR’s support included several critical aspects requiring utmost precision. First, we supported the acquisition of the property, negotiating sales agreements with previous owners and settling part of the remuneration through residential units.

We also supported the construction phase by securing a contract with the general contractor and negotiating a multilateral agreement with the City of Kraków and two other developers. This agreement covered the joint implementation of infrastructure works, including the reconstruction of sewer systems, power lines, water supply networks, and more.

Zakopiańska project – balancing investor interests with community concerns

The project on Zakopiańska Street in Kraków exemplifies KWKR’s approach to socially responsible legal advisory. We supported Matexi in acquiring the property and executing a residential investment consisting of two multifamily buildings in Kraków’s Podgórze district, near the Divine Mercy Sanctuary – one of Poland’s most significant religious sites. The location, in a densely built-up area, led to social tensions.

In resolving neighborhood disputes, our goal is not only to protect the client’s interests but also to uphold social responsibility and public goodwill. Aware of these values, we engaged cautiously in dialogue and negotiations to address neighbors’ concerns and seek compromise solutions. Our priority was to preserve harmony in the local community and foster a positive attitude toward the project, taking into account the needs and concerns of nearby residents.

Diverse projects – from the city center to protected areas

Our collaboration with Matexi also extends to other strategically significant locations in Kraków:

  • Lirników, Facimiech, Świtezianki: We supported the due diligence processes, negotiations, and conclusion of sales agreements for properties designated for multifamily residential development.

A strategic partnership built on trust

The long-standing and multi-project cooperation with Matexi confirms KWKR’s ability to build lasting partnerships with key players in the real estate development market. The wide variety of challenges – from complex transaction structures and infrastructure negotiations with local authorities to managing social conflicts – demonstrates our team’s versatility and the ability to tailor legal strategies to the unique demands of each project.

The success of this collaboration affirms KWKR’s position as a preferred legal advisor for socially responsible developers operating in Kraków’s demanding real estate market.
