Poland. Business Harbour: the new changes

Poland. Business Harbour is a program of the Polish government facilitating the employment in Poland of foreign professionals (mainly from the IT industry). Unlike the usual visa application procedure in Poland, obtaining a PBH visa does not require a work permit.

The process of obtaining a PBH visa is short and uncomplicated. It differs significantly from the lengthy, tedious, and uncertain procedures that burden foreigners with their life situation. And that is why the program is so attractive both for entrepreneurs and employees.

New rules for Belarus

Up to now, within PBH a specialist from Belarus had to receive either an invitation to cooperate from one of the partner companies or a document confirming his/her technical education. Alternatively, a document confirming a minimum of one year of experience in the ICT industry was also required.

However, as of February 1, 2022, the program rules for all PBH participants – including Belarusians – are the same. It means that it is not possible to obtain a PBH visa without first receiving an invitation from one of the Polish partner companies.

New countries in the program

In addition to Belarus, the program is open to citizens of Armenia, Georgia, Moldova, Russia, and Ukraine. Requirements and benefits are all the same. And, due to the high effectiveness of the project, another country has been admitted to the BPH visas.

Now citizens of Azerbaijan will also benefit from PBH visas – under similar rules. Visa applications are prioritized, and upon approval, visas will also be granted to the foreigner’s family. As with the other countries, a PBH visa is issued for one year.

Poland. Business Harbour: possible changes in 2022

The program is attracting a lot of interest. Since the project was announced – in December 2020 – more than 24 thousand visas have been allocated. In addition, under PBH foreign entrepreneurs have sent thousands of applications, many of which have already completed the relocation process.

The momentum of the project and its positive reception suggest that the addition of a new country to the program is not the last chance to come this year. The most important rule is a recommendation by one of the more than 300 partner companies of the program. The list remains open, entrepreneurs can still apply for participation.
