Implementation of the GDPR in the Warsaw group of insurance companies with more than 2 million customers

Konieczny Wierzbicki Law Firm played an important role in implementing a group of insurance, investment and pension companies based in Warsaw, existing since 1997. It provides financial services to over 2 million individual and corporate clients. The Group belongs to one of the leading insurers in the world, which made it necessary to set solutions at the international level (it involved dealing with issues with related entities from various countries).

We supported our client (companies from the group that offer insurance and pension schemes) in all in all activities required to implement GDPR including, in auditing the company in terms of adaptation to the regulations on personal data protection, drafting necessary documentation and preparation of procedures regarding the protection of personal data and privacy policy/cookies. During the implementation we provided ongoing legal assistance to make sure that all the requirements are met. It was a crucial matter for our client as they had to comply with specific legal obligations, as the insurer conducts activities highly regulated by law and processes special categories of data, which requires additional action in terms of data protection to be taken.
