Digital Ocean Ventures invests in Uniperks – comprehensive legal support from KWKR

The KWKR team once again advised Digital Ocean Ventures ASI sp. z o.o. S.K.A. (DOV) on another investment made as part of the PFR Starter programme. DOV is an active venture capital fund specialising in early-stage investments. It focuses primarily on the FinTech, SaaS, ConsumerTech sectors and projects using digital technologies. DOV is known for consistently and strategically building a portfolio of companies with high growth potential, with which it cooperates on a long-term basis.

This time, the fund has invested in Uniperks P.S.A., a dynamically growing company creating a platform of benefits and discounts for students. Uniperks enables brands and universities to effectively reach young consumers through personalised discounts, partnership programmes and an integrated student benefits system. Thanks to the use of data and modern technology, the solution fits into the growing segment of tools supporting digital consumer engagement.

Scope of KWKR’s support

As part of the transaction worth approximately PLN 1.5 million, we advised Digital Ocean Ventures at every stage of the investment process. Our activities included:

• conducting a comprehensive legal due diligence of Uniperks P.S.A.,
• preparing and negotiating the investment agreement,
• coordinating and organising the closing and finalising the transaction documentation.

The project was carried out in accordance with the standards and procedures developed as part of our ongoing cooperation with Digital Ocean Ventures, including legal services for numerous fund investments. Thanks to this, the process ran smoothly, according to schedule and based on practices used in seed-stage transactions.

Significance of the investment

The capital raised by Uniperks will be used for further development of the platform, improvement of technology and building a broad ecosystem of partnerships. For Digital Ocean Ventures, the investment is another step in the consistent strengthening of its portfolio of technology companies and confirmation of the fund’s active presence in the Polish start-up sector.
