KWKR on the team of the Group of Advisors on Artificial Intelligence (GRAI)

As a result of the EU project on defining the principles for the functioning of artificial intelligence in the European Union, Poland became interested in the subject of AI. As a result, the Working Group on Artificial Intelligence (GRAI) was established, with Łukasz Wieczorek, an expert on new technologies law, as its member.

GRAI: Opportunities and possibilities of AI on the Polish market

GRAI was created as part of the activities of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister. Its purpose is to discuss both the EU project and the issue of artificial intelligence itself. The initiators of this undertaking are interested in identifying appropriate principles and practices that would lay the foundations for the safe development of AI in Poland.

This involves researching the use of artificial intelligence in many industries (where there is potential for its use) from the private and public sectors. It is also planned to define AI in connection with scientific research. The project is extremely ambitious and requires particular expertise in new technologies.

We keep our finger on the pulse

We are very pleased to announce that our new technology law expert, Łukasz Wieczorek, has been invited to participate in such an ambitious project. Łukasz has many years of experience in IT sector cases. He has participated in dozens of projects preparing and negotiating IT contracts with, among others, contractors from the U.S., Europe, and Asia.

For many years he has also been dealing with the issue of artificial intelligence and as one of the first specialists in Poland, he drew attention to the importance of the EU project on AI. As a result, together with Miquido, he led the AI Waves webinar. During the meeting, he focused on the pioneering project of the European Union. He also highlighted the difficulties associated with the problematic definition of AI.

Moreover, in cooperation with Polish Agency for Enterprise Development, he prepared an article about artificial intelligence in business. In the article entitled. “Responsibility for damages resulting from artificial intelligence systems” he drew attention to the specificity of AI systems and pointed to the proposed legislative solutions.

We are pleased that our expert has been honored with GRAI membership. We are sure that his opinion on the functioning of artificial intelligence in the Polish business environment will be an invaluable indication as to the direction Polish legal regulations concerning AI should take.
