Bio
Iwona Aleksandrowicz-Strus, LL.M., is an attorney-at-law and Managing Senior Associate at KWKR. She leads the Innovation Risk & Governance team. Her practice focuses on new technologies law, intellectual property and digital regulation. In this role, she combines legal expertise with an understanding of business and technology needs.
New technologies law and technology agreements
She advises on drafting, negotiating and structuring technology and commercial agreements. Her practice also covers intellectual property transactions and the protection and commercialisation of IP.
Iwona advises on the development and launch of new products, services and business models. In particular, she helps clients address legal requirements at different stages of technology development. This allows regulatory requirements to be reflected in practical solutions aligned with business needs.
Data Act, DSA and digital regulation
Her experience includes the implementation of new digital regulations, including the Data Act, Digital Services Act (DSA) and cybersecurity regulations.
In practice, she helps clients translate regulatory requirements into technological solutions, operational processes and documentation.
She is also a co-author and co-editor of a commentary on the Data Act published by Wolters Kluwer.
Intellectual property and IP commercialisation
A significant part of her practice focuses on intellectual property law. She advises on the protection and commercialisation of IP. Additionally, her practice covers IP-related projects and transactions. Her approach combines a legal perspective with the practical use of intellectual property rights and intangible assets in business.
Publications and speaking engagements
She publishes on new technologies, intellectual property and digital regulation. Her articles have appeared in Dziennik Gazeta Prawna, Rzeczpospolita, Prawo.pl and iGaming Polska. She also delivers training sessions and speaks at industry events.
Education and professional activities
She graduated in law from the Jagiellonian University. She also completed the Intellectual Property and New Technologies programme at the Jagiellonian University. The programme was organised in cooperation with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the Patent Office of the Republic of Poland.
Additionally, she completed the American Law Program and holds an LL.M. in International Commercial Law from Kozminski University.
She serves as Vice-Chair of the Intellectual Property and New Technologies Section of the Kraków Bar Association.
Recognition
She was recognised as an Associate to Watch in TMT in Chambers and Partners Europe 2026. She was also named a Key Lawyer in TMT in The Legal 500 2026. In addition, she received the iGaming Polska 2024 Leader of the Year title.
